Start somewhere...

I've never been able to maintain a journal and I don't know if this will be any different, but if I don't try, it definitely won't happen! That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Does that count as an entry? I think so. If I ever get any regular readers, they can complain when they get here.

To all my "friends" in the bloggity world, thank you for your inspiration! I'll try to be more entertaining in the future.

Oh, I know! How about a cast of characters? Yes? Okay! Here are a few of the regulars:

ME! I'll just be brave and call myself Beth because nobody will be reading this anyway. But the (mostly) innocent must be protected from the nefarious and nebulous internets!

Yo - The long suffering husband.

Ebo - Our brilliant and delightful teenaged son, aged 14.

PJ - A mischievous sprite, snuggle puppy and Klingon warrior, aged 6.

Those people? Listed above? They like to spoonerize things. It's not pretty. It's prot netty either!

Grandma - my Mom, a supporting character, she'll love the double meaning there! She comes and goes in between her wild adventures.

Her Tailness - AKA Miss Lu, our wonderful black lab, she's 10ish. She's an excellent drummer.

The Dustmop - AKA Hairy, a lab/border collie mix, often travels with the G'mom but currently residing with us. Like most Gemini natives, he has two completely different personalities! Try not to piss him off; you could lose an arm that way.

Miss Boo - our kitty, age 12. Can cats be described as anything other then enigmatic? I think there might be some kind of rule...

The Weather - Welcome to Michigan! We have weather! It has character! What? Do I have to tell that tired old joke again? Okay, here goes: "If you don't like Michigan weather, wait a minute."

There, that'll do.

Well, I have to say I am a little dissapointed that the HP books are not on your list of favs!

Other than that, I was most entertained.

Bravo and keep it up!

Glad to hear Ms. Lu is alive and living well (the best revenge) in Michigan with you yahoos. Particularly since Her Tri-Colourness Lady Baronness passed away last fall. (I put the u in colour there to offer you a cheap smile as a buffer to the news. Also so you'd know who I was. Sorry 'bout your president an' everything, eh.) Lady Bear now rests illegally under the earth in the southwest corner of the yard. Beautiful to the end!

Which reminds... I'm hoping the supporting cast member Travellin' Grandma will be frequent subject material.

Thank you for not naming this welcome new entity Smut. Times are different, and it wouldn't be right. Here's the deal: You write. I'll hang out. Might even plant's looking kind of beige around here.

Now for fuck's sake, let me get back to work already.

Hi Beth,
Just me checking in. I had to make sure the address worked.
My sister Jill, her grandaughter Lexi, Rowan and I went to the Spring Fair on Sunday (Puyallup Fairgrounds). We've gone every year since we've returned to Washington and this was the first year we didn't get rained on! It was 71 degrees, balmy and beautiful. The perfect day. Anyway, enroute, we drove by Dirty Dave's on Martin Way and their billboard read "Jake, the other white, white meat". We lost it because we knew who they were referring to. I called and left a Mom-message on his cell - but he's chosen to ignore me. Anyway I thought it was really funny. You know who still hasn't reared his ugly head.
Rowan survived another quarter of school and she and I are counting the days until Summer vacation. We plan on spending every available minute at the lake - spiraling gas prices or not. That will take some creative financing on my part, but I am the master at that. I should be running General Motors or something!!!! How cool - your own Blog - up until your intrepid e-mail I didn't know what that was. When I asked Rowan she rolled her eyes and said "your kidding - right?" So now I know the meaning of another 21st century word. Thank you. You've helped enlighten me. Have a great day - hugs and kisses to your family and I will check in frequently - even when I don't have much to say (yeah - right!).
